Concert Update: New South Florida Dates for Cultura Profetica, Railroad Earth and The Disco Biscuits

Three recently released concerts have come to my attention, and I feel you all will be pleased with them:

Cultura Profetica

Puerto Rican reggae act, Cultura Profetica, will be performing with Miami heavyweights, Jahfe and The Spam Allstars on April 30 in Peacock Park (Coconut Grove) for the Miami Reggae Festival. The event will feature many other artists and, best of all, it’s FREE! Well, aside from a two can donation for the food drive, but that’s little to ask for such a good time.

Railroad Earth

You’ll have to weigh this one, though, because the same day Afro-beat superstars Antibalas will be rocking the North Beach Bandshell for Heineken’s Transatlantic Festival.

New-grass sensation Railroad Earth also announced it will be performing at The Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale on April 22. Admission is $20.

The Disco Biscuits

Finally, more news has surfaced concerning Grand Central’s Ultra after party. Rumors have been circulating that they would be playing host to some unnamed Disco Biscuit side project. Jambase lists The Disco Biscuits themselves as performing at Grand Central on March 27. However, on DiscoBiscuits.com, it is said that, “…Tractorbeam will touch down for a late-night rage at Grand Central.”

Either way, it’s looking like some Biscuity goodness for those not fortunate enough to attend the sold-out Ultra Music Festival.

Now that’s something to look forward to.

About clazaga5

I am a music writer. I graduated from FIU's School of Journalism and Mass Communications in April, 2011. I've always had a passion for music. Since high school, I've been involved in a few bands and written a good number of original songs. I loved going to shows and seeing live music. So when the notion struck me to combine the two, it seemed only logical that I write about live music when and wherever I find it. This blog is what came of that notion.
