Concert Updates: Bobby Lee Rodgers, Tractorbeam and The Grateful Dead

Bobby Lee Rodgers

Bobby Lee Rodgers has been added to the bill at the Fillmore Miami Beach this Saturday (3/20). Rodgers will perform a solo set to open for Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. He’s also been known to make guest appearances with huge bands—he sat in with Widespread Panic when they last visited Miami—so it’s not out such a stretch to see him playing with The Dap Kings at some point Saturday night.

In other news, it’s finally official—Tractorbeam will be performing a late night set at Grand Central after the final night of Ultra Music Festival (3/27). Limited presale tickets are available through Bisco Tix for $20. Tickets are $25 at the door.

There’s also a special treat for deadheads across the nation on April 20. Theatres across the U.S. will be screening The Grateful Dead Movie, live recordings from their five-night run at the Winterland Ballroom in 1974.

This special one-night-only screening will also feature a previously unreleased interview with Jerry Garcia conducted during the filming of the movie.

The movie will be shown in South Florida at the locations below:

All showings on Wednesday, Apr 20 at 7:30 p.m.

About clazaga5

I am a music writer. I graduated from FIU's School of Journalism and Mass Communications in April, 2011. I've always had a passion for music. Since high school, I've been involved in a few bands and written a good number of original songs. I loved going to shows and seeing live music. So when the notion struck me to combine the two, it seemed only logical that I write about live music when and wherever I find it. This blog is what came of that notion.
