North Meets South: Dopapod and Spam Allstars at Transit Lounge TONIGHT!

The Spam Allstars

It would do you good to head out to downtown tonight (3/18). Transit Lounge is throwing a funky jam party and you’re invited!

Headlining the show are the Spam Allstars, masters of the electronic-descarga. Alone, these guys bring the party, but being from Miami, we often have the chance to see them. What makes tonight a little extra special is the opener.

Dopapod

Dopapod, a genre-bending funky jam group out of Boston will be there to lay down some fat grooves rife with live improvisation. They’re relatively new and are still building their following with relentless touring, and they’re garnering some attention. Dopapod performed late on the path lined with food tents in the campground area this last Bear Creek. They pulled together a good crowd with their fresh jams—no easy feat when Zach Deputy is a few yards down the same path doing the same thing.

As usual, entry to Transit Lounge is free of charge, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t come out to enjoy a night of jamming and grooving. You can check out up-and-comers Dopapod and get down with the funkiest latin party in Miami, the Spam Allstars. Sounds like a great spring break Friday to me!

About clazaga5

I am a music writer. I graduated from FIU's School of Journalism and Mass Communications in April, 2011. I've always had a passion for music. Since high school, I've been involved in a few bands and written a good number of original songs. I loved going to shows and seeing live music. So when the notion struck me to combine the two, it seemed only logical that I write about live music when and wherever I find it. This blog is what came of that notion.
