Catch Some Rays: West Palm’s Sunfest In April

Sublime with Rome

It’s definitely festival season. After the epic Wanee Music Festival next month, folks will have the option of continuing the pursuit of awesome live music at West Palm Beach’s Sunfest.

This year’s Sunfest has something for everybody from Jason Mraz and Cee-Lo Green to Jeff Beck and Gregg Allman. From Sublime with Rome and Ziggy Marley to Taking Back Sunday and Circa Survive. They even have Earth Wind and Fire and Styx.

That pretty much covers everyone. They left out electronica, you say? Nope, you’ll find MGMT and Miami’s own Panic Bomber there too.

Unlike Wanee that condenses a mindblowing lineup dense with legends and superstars into a few short days, Sunfest takes their diverse lineup and spreads it across five days from April 27 to May 1.

Be warned, though, Sunfest is a family-friendly event and bags, backpacks and such are subject to inspection. So heads, be discreet with your smoke.

One, two and five-day passes are available from $34 to $66 dollars online. Discounted youth tickets are also available.

Check out the full lineup here.

About clazaga5

I am a music writer. I graduated from FIU's School of Journalism and Mass Communications in April, 2011. I've always had a passion for music. Since high school, I've been involved in a few bands and written a good number of original songs. I loved going to shows and seeing live music. So when the notion struck me to combine the two, it seemed only logical that I write about live music when and wherever I find it. This blog is what came of that notion.
